Hello All!!!

What a great success our Variety Show was this past weekend–thank you to all that came out to support us and a big thank you to our performers. You were great!! We were able to raise a sufficient amount for our Alternative Spring Break program and for Habitat for Humanity.

On to our next event..

Spring Forward Festival! This Sunday, March 24th, 1-4 PM will be our Spring Forward Festival. We are looking forward to our second to last big event this semester and hope everyone from the community can come! This event is open to all of the community and is geared towards children. There is a large egg hunt (one for older kids and one for younger children.) There is food, crafts, and games. And the best part: it’s free! We are crossing our fingers for great sunny weather this Sunday.

So, come on out this Sunday at Brompton–the President’s residence–for some spring fun and even see our bunny! If you have any questions about it, feel free to call us at (540) 654-1802.

Our last event of the semester will be Act! Speak! Build! Week! More information on that will be here shortly. See you all Sunday!

Admittance is free but you can buy raffle tickets for a dollar and win prizes, such as movie baskets, restaurant gift cards, home improvement things, etc. It will star some of UMW’s own performers, such as Bella Acapella, One Note Stand, UMW Dance Team, Alter Egos, etc.

Getting in the holiday spirit as December quickly approaches?  Love to wrap presents? Every year, COAR sends over 700 shoe boxes of toys and clothes to at-risk children at the Head Start preschools. But each box needs to be wrapped to be exciting and pretty for the kids when they open the box to find all the presents!  Join COAR in the Dome Room of Seacobeck on Friday, November 16 from 5-8 for wrapping boxes, cookies, hot chocolate and good holiday cheer! If you would like to wrap and fill  your own box email coarumw@gmail.com or stop by our office under Seaco to sign a box! We look forward to seeing you there!

Thank you to all our volunteers who came out to help with craft tables, games, and take down. We couldn’t have done this without any of you!

If you came, we hope you had a fantastic time! Spring Forward Festival is one of our most favorite and best events of the year and we hope next year is as great as this year’s!

Here is one of our favorite pictures of the day! When the big kids were allowed to start hunting for eggs…
